Privacy Policy for AbFabTravels

 Our website address is: https://www.abfabtravels.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect some personal data from users and site visitors. This includes information such as name, email address and website address. This enables us to contact you about updates and to reply to any comments or questions you post. We ask you to consent to providing this information.

Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics and third-party embeds (see below) in order to improve our service.

We use an anti-spam service called Aksimet which also collects data on site users. This data includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

How we protect your data

We take data protection seriously. AbFabTravels has a security certificate in place (note the padlock sign in the URL) and we use a reputable host, Siteground, to store our information.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with any third party and would only do so if it was a legal requirement. We will never sell or rent your personal data.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have registered on this site, or have left comments, you can request to see the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. You may do this via the Contact form or by email: jane@abfabtravels.com

Where we send your data

Visitor comments will be checked through the automated spam detection service, Aksimet. See details above.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

On our contact form we ask you to provide contact details and we will retain this information for customer service purposes for up to one year. This information is not used for marketing purposes and will not be passed on to any third party. We will never sell or rent your personal information. Note: the Contact Form has been temporarily removed from this site. Contact may be made by emailing jane@abfabtravels.com

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. links to videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We recommend that you consult the privacy policy of any site you visit and accept no responsibility for their practice.

Analytics

We use an analytics service called Google Analytics in order to improve our service and monitor usage.  Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of making your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.
