Hello!  I’m Jane. I live in the Lake District in the north of England with my husband, Peter. We love to travel, but this is a great place to call home.

I started this blog as a sort of journal and a way to let family and friends follow our travelling adventures. However, it gained a little traction online and now I find myself writing for a wider audience, trying to create articles that are helpful and informative to fellow travellers.

Everything I write is based on personal experience. I do not write about places I have not visited. All photos are taken by me (or occasionally Peter or someone to whom I have passed my phone if you see a pic of the two of us). I do not edit photos in any way other than to compress in order that the site loads quickly. Basically, what you see is what you get. If a place is crowded, the crowds are in the photo; if the weather is grey, it is grey in the photo; if there is scaffolding on a building, there is scaffolding in my photo. You get the picture!

I have always made a point of never accepting guest posts on AbFabTravels, but I have just made an exception! My daughter Beth is currently on a sabbatical and travelling the world. She has agreed to contribute a few articles, giving a young person’s perspective and insights into a different way of travelling. She is a fantastic writer so please check out her posts.

Jasper is our lockdown pup! You will see him in many of the posts, especially those about the Lake District where we live, or those where we are travelling in our motorhome. He is very friendly and needs a lot of exercise so we are always out and about with him. If we are travelling further afield, he stays at home with family.
